Lake Marble Falls Marble Falls TexasLake Marble Falls is a reservoir that was built in 1951.  It is on the Colorado River and is located in Marble Falls, Texas.  It is considered a hydroelectric reservoir.  Hydroelectricity is electricity that is produced by water power.

Lake Marble Falls is one of the places our friends at Pro Hood Cleaning love to fish.  The lake is stocked with sunfish, catfish and largemouth bass as well as striped bass.

Marble Falls LakeFest Drag Boat Races is a popular event.  They have twelve classifications for the three-day race with more than one hundred boats participating.  The drag boats can reach a top speed of two hundred and sixty miles per hour.

They have a free Show ‘N’ Shine where the fans can meet and greet the drag boat drivers.  They get a up close view of the boats, so they can see the powerful engines.  On Friday and Saturday, they have concerts in Lakeside Park.  The race starts on Sunday the races begin at nine in the morning with the final round at three in the afternoon.

Most of the lakeshore at Lake Marble Falls is privately owned.  The reservoirs surface area is six hundred and eleven acres and the maximum depth is sixty feet and is seven hundred and thirty-eight feet above sea level.
