The Guest House

The Guest House is a well-appointed and comfortable three-room cottage. Featuring family treasured antique furnishings mixed with modern day luxuries all tastefully woven together with a 1940’s vintage era ambiance.

If this is grandmother’s house, then THIS Grande Dame was a world traveler who brought back treasures from her jaunts abroad and graciously made them at home in amongst her family heirlooms.

In the ensuite spa style private bath, guests will find plenty of freshly scented oversized bath sheets ready for you after you enjoy the champagne bubble hot air massage tub or the marble walk-in multi-feature shower. Spa robes are ready for you to snuggle into for the duration of your stay.

After you’ve uncovered the delights of sleeping in the clouds – our decadently dressed Kingsdown bed, roll out of the lush down-draped king-sized bed to enjoy the Grocery Bag Breakfast fixings left for you to prepare in the comfort and privacy of your Guesthouse. Weather permitting; dine Al Fresco on the sunrise balcony, shade pavilion or pond-side patio. Any time you desire.

After breakfast, take a nap, stroll the grounds, or consult with your hosts as you plan your day’s leisure activities. Business guests can catch up on email on your laptop using our high-speed wireless DSL.

The living room and dining area are classically furnished with overstuffed traditional sofa and chairs. It is a perfect gathering place stocked with books, classic movies for the VCR, satellite programming and large screen color TV, and board games.

For midnight hunger attacks, the Hospitality Kitchen in your Guesthouse is stocked with beverages, snacks and even some light meals for your pleasure. Enjoy it with our compliments.

Dining

Gourmet Dinner for Two, $145 per couple

Ambiance, Preparation, and Presentation

The Dining Table in the Guesthouse will be dressed in crisp table linens, Lenox china, fine crystal stemware, and Aunt Mary’s antique silverware.

Fresh flowers and candlelight, as well as romantic music to suit your preference will set the stage for a romantic dining experience.

Your host, Susan, will be your server and will deliver each course, as you are ready. She will be conspicuously absent between courses to allow you an intimate meal together. Susan will serve and clear, decant your wines, refresh your beverages and serve seconds upon request.

(All Meals are prepared for two people choosing the same item and are served with Crisp Italian Peasant Bread, Extra Virgin Olive Oil seasoned with Italian spices and a complimentary bottle of Wine or Sparkling non-alcoholic beverage.)

Entrées

Angel Hair Pasta in a Garlic Herb Sauce
tossed with baby shrimp or chicken breast with freshly grated parmesan cheese. Vegetable of choice.

Sausage & Pepper over Rotini Pesto Spiral
pasta in a classic pesto sauce of garlic, basil, finely ground pignoli nuts and a blend of grated Romano, Asiago and Pecorino cheeses. Topped with a generous portion of Sweet Italian sausage, red, orange and green peppers and red onions.

Chicken Gorgonzola Risotto
Boneless chicken breast, batter dipped in flour and grated Locatelli cheese, then sautéed to a crisp light golden brown. Served over creamy Arborio rice made sharp with Gorgonzola cheese. Vegetable of choice.

Tortellini Alfredo
Choose cheese or beef filled tortellini baked to perfection in a creamy Alfredo sauce. Served with a vegetable of choice.

Cannelloni
Crepe style pasta containing a filling of chopped baby spinach, crumbled Sweet or Hot Italian Sausage, Romano cheese, garlic, and herbs. Topped with a creamy parmesan pepper white sauce.

Chicken or Shrimp Scampi over Fettuccini Alfredo
Just what it says. Vegetable of choice.

Classic Lasagna
Layers of pasta, Italian sausage, meatballs, Ricotta, Mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses and tomato sauce, baked to perfection and served up generously.

Herbed Cornish Game Hen
Served with couscous and vegetable of choice

Prune-Stuffed Pork Tenderloin
A delicate blend of sweet and savory served with garlic roasted red potatoes and vegetable of choice

Grilled Salmon Filet
Broiled with butter and herbs and topped with a Béarnaise sauce. Garlic Mashed Potatoes and vegetable of your choice.

Basque Swordfish
An unusual combination of potatoes, onions, bell pepper, and bacon tops these swordfish steaks. Served with vegetable of choice.

Filet of Sole with Basil Chiffonade
Napped with a lemon butter sauce and garnished with slivered fresh basil. Served with Rice and Lemon Roasted peppers.

(Any of the chicken or shrimp dishes may be prepared with either chicken or shrimp or a combination of the two.)

Food and Environment Presentation

Pizza Picnic

Pizza will be delivered hot out of the oven to your Guesthouse. Accompanying the pizza is your carpet picnic basket including floor/tablecloth a six-pack on the ice of your favorite malt beverage or soft drink refreshment. And if you look way down in that picnic basket perhaps you’ll also find a sweet dessert treat!
